Apple has entered the global PC maker top three

The market research company Canalys has announced the sales statistics report for the global PC market in the fourth quarter of 2010. Unlike other analyst companies that have classified flat-panel products such as the iPad in a new market category, Canalis believes tablet computers should also belong to the PC market. Canalys said that their definition of PC includes all desktops, laptops, netbooks, "Pad" tablets and industry-standard server PCs. They believe that because tablet devices such as the iPad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab already provide a true computing experience, the definition of the PC should keep pace with the times.

Canalys analysts said: “The idea that Pad is not part of the PC is out of date. These devices have a 7-inch screen, a powerful processor, a large number of applications, and their computing experience can now be comparable to netbooks. Netbooks are also competing in the same customer groups and coexisting happily. Like smartphones, some users require physical keyboards, and some users do not."
