The Zhengzhou Municipal Government plans to promote the application of LED energy-saving lamps in the society by 120,000 in 2015. According to the plan implementation plan, the 120,000-inch LED lamp should include 78,000 street lamps, 20,000 subway lamps, and 22,000 courtyard lamps. According to government estimates, this will save more than 90 million kilowatt-hours per year, save electricity costs of 63 million yuan, and save maintenance costs of 55 million yuan.
To achieve this goal, Zhengzhou City will build 20 demonstration roads, 10 demonstration parks, 100 demonstration communities and 2 subway demonstration lines within 5 years. From 2010, in the case of new roads, parks, plazas, and remodeled government investment projects involving lighting products, LED energy-saving lamps should be used in principle, otherwise the relevant government departments will not establish projects. Among them, the demonstration roads include 10 main roads and part of the secondary trunk roads such as Zhongyuan Road, Lushan Road and Huayuan Road. The LED energy-saving lamps installed in the community, subway and other places, the government gives the installation unit a one-time subsidy.
