Did you buy the wrong MBP model? Don't worry about this is a bug

Tencent Digital (Compile: Guti) Recently, some users of Apple's new MacBook Pro have found some strange problems when using it, and the problem is mainly about the graphics card of their own laptops. According to a report from MacRumors, in some cases, some models display the Intel Iris Pro 580 graphics card instead of Apple’s announcement of a lower-end Intel HD530 integrated graphics card.

Although initially reported that this problem only appeared in some Apple retail store demo models (some people think that Apple is equipped with better graphics for these models to improve presentation performance), this is not the case, and some MacBook Pro users It also means that the product's graphics card configuration is inconsistent with the configuration list provided by Apple.

Someone analyzed that this was a mistake from the MacOS Sierra system. Some reports indicate that the graphics card model's display information is affected by whether or not the external power supply is connected. When using battery power, the graphics card version shows the HD530, and when plugged in, the graphics card information becomes the Iris Pro 580.

And more evidence shows that Apple actually uses the HD530 graphics card in the product, and the device's ID character code is "191b", which is the character code of the graphics card configuration.

The Iris Pro 580 graphics card is only compatible with Intel's Core i5-6350HQ and Core i7-6770/6870/6970HQ, and these processors do not appear on the new MacBook Pro. Although this is only speculation, but Apple chose the relatively lower-end Skylake processor, most likely to extend battery life.

At present, the difference between the display card model number and the configuration list label displayed by the system is only an error report. However, for the new MacBook Pro, it is also an oolong event.

This report is the second in three days for Apple and the new MacBook Pro. Previously, it was reported that some features of the Touch Bar of the MacBook Pro were disabled by Apple. In order to ensure the integrity of the system, the potential malicious attacks caused by all development were prevented.

So far Apple officials have not yet responded to this question.

Global Lithium-ion Battery Market: Trends and Opportunities

  • Rise in the demand for electric vehicles, including electric bikes and energy storage applications, is increasing the demand for lithium-ion batteries.
  • The market share of lithium-ion batteries in the overall lithium market increased from 25% in 2007 to 35.0% in 2015.
  • Governments across the world are promoting the use of electric vehicles. For example, in China, the government has mandated that automotive players having a production capacity of more than 50,000 units per year must ensure that electric vehicle sales account for 8.0% of their overall sales in 2018.
  • Across the world, rise in the demand for smartphone is increasing the demand for lithium-ion batteries.
  • It is expected that, the demand for lithium-ion batteries in consumer electronics products such as smartphones, laptops, and other digital devices will rise from 26 GWh in 2015 to 37 GWH in 2020, and to 54 GWh in 2025.
  • In FY2018, according to Japan-based global lithium-ion battery manufacturer Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., the number of smartphones, desktops, notebooks, and tablets having installed lithium-ion batteries was 1,360 million, 100 million, 160 million, and 150 million, respectively. Thus, increase in the sales of consumer electronics products is increasing the demand for lithium-ion batteries.
  • A trend observed in the global lithium-ion battery market is the continuous decrease in the prices of lithium-ion batteries.
