British team management company Epyx has been actively engaging with several car-funded communication firms, aiming to collaborate on innovative solutions that can transform the way data from connected vehicles is analyzed. Despite the vast amount of data generated by these vehicles, Epyx has identified a major challenge: the absence of a unified infrastructure. This lack of standardization makes it difficult to process and leverage the data effectively, limiting its impact on decision-making processes.
Epyx recently launched its 1Link platform, which aims to streamline fleet SMR (Service, Maintenance, and Repair) management. The platform serves as an integrated information hub, enabling teams to make better use of the data collected from connected cars. With over 18,000 garages and 3 million vehicle service points across the network, 1Link allows fleet managers to access real-time data directly from the dashboard—ranging from fuel levels to tank status—enabling quicker and more informed decisions.
For instance, if a connected vehicle sends a fault alert, the system can analyze the issue in real time before the vehicle returns to the fleet’s garage. This proactive approach helps identify a solution in advance, so when the vehicle arrives, repairs can be carried out immediately, minimizing downtime and improving operational efficiency.
Currently, the 1Link platform connects key data points, including access to SMR systems, communication with drivers, locating suitable garages, scheduling repairs, obtaining authorizations, and generating invoices. In essence, Epyx acts as the central nervous system for fleet management, delivering more timely and actionable insights. Although the company is still in the early stages of negotiations with potential partners, the future looks bright, with significant growth and innovation opportunities ahead.
