Recently, I came across a Hisense TV issue. On the same day, I took over three Hisense LED LCD TVs, all of which were less than two years old. Each had different fault symptoms. For a while, I didn't share the results with others, but now I have time to organize and release them one by one.
This particular unit starts with a blue screen and no response from the remote control. After opening the cover, I checked the voltage on the power board (HLE-4046WE) at the STB port: 3.6V, SW 0V, 5V, 5.2V, 12V (6–15V), and 16V (8–24V). There are two sets of main voltages. During this cycle, the board was jumping, and there was a faint "Tara" sound. My initial thought was that the power output was abnormal, causing the TV to be unresponsive. This type of fault is similar to what some friends have experienced before.
I decided to fix it based on my own approach. I removed the board and started by checking the sampling circuit. The machine samples from 12V. I noticed a short circuit between pins 3 and 4 of the optocoupler N840. Usually, this can help roughly determine whether the fault is on the hot or cold side. However, there was no voltage output, suggesting the problem might be on the cold side.
I checked the control pin of the sampling control N842 and found it shorted to ground, but the fault remained unchanged. Since the sampling wasn’t working properly, I decided to remove the optical switches N833 and N840 from the original board and replace them with a good optocoupler, following the principle of fast and reliable repairs (being careful not to install the wrong pins).
After replacing, there was still no output, confirming that N840 was faulty. I replaced N833 with a good one and installed a working optocoupler in place of N840. Now, the power output was stable at 12V and 16V. I removed the forced boot point, reset the board, and the TV booted up successfully. The music played, the picture appeared, and the input signal was normal. The repair was completed.
