1. Guangzhou Luxury Car: Acura TLX-L
The Acura TLX-L is making a strong appearance at the Guangzhou Auto Show. As a luxury brand under GAC Honda, it follows the success of CDX with the introduction of this sedan. The model features 2.4L and 3.5L naturally aspirated engines, paired with an 8DCT or 9AT transmission overseas. In China, the V6 variant may not be available, but the 2.4L engine still offers solid performance, though it's less appealing compared to the more powerful 2.0T option.
2. Haval’s New Compact SUV: M6
Haval has launched its new compact SUV, the M6, equipped with a 1.5T engine producing 150 horsepower and 210 N·m of torque. It comes with either a 6MT manual or a 6-speed automatic manual transmission. The suspension system uses a front McPherson setup and rear double wishbones, similar to the old H6 model. With a price range of 8.98–10.98 million yuan, the M6 is expected to be a hit in the market.
3. High-Value Electric Car: Chuanqi GE3
The Chuanqi GE3, a pure electric SUV, was officially launched with a pre-subsidy price of 228,000 to 245,800 yuan. After subsidies, the price drops to 150,200 to 173,200 yuan. The car features a motor with 120 kW power and 290 N·m torque, perfect for its lightweight design. Its fast-charging capability allows 15 minutes of charging for up to 200 km of range. This model is one of the most competitive electric vehicles in its price range.
4. Big Power Package: Buick Regal
Buick brings a strong lineup to the show, featuring both 1.5T and 2.0T engines with outputs of 163 and 254 horsepower respectively. A hybrid version is also available. Notably, both gasoline variants come with the latest 9AT automatic transmission. Priced between 17.58–26.98 million yuan, the Regal offers great value, especially with the unique 1.5T+9AT combination that makes it stand out in the market.
5. Hybrid Veteran: BYD Qin
BYD Qin, a long-time player in the hybrid segment, has released its 2017 model. It still uses a 1.5T engine matched with a 6-speed DCT, but after adding the motor, it delivers a maximum power of 295 horsepower and 479 N·m of torque. The car has an all-electric range of 80 km, with a post-subsidy price of 149,900 yuan. Despite moving the "BYD" logo to the corner, the Qin now looks much more premium and competitive.
