introduction

The increasing incidence of chronic diseases and the growing demand for controlling medical costs and an aging population have made online medical technology increasingly important. ConTInua's AggregaTIon manager (AM) will be an essential part of the network's healthcare system, enabling many personal medical devices to record data as remote electronic cases (EHR) for home and clinical use. diagnosis. This aggregation manager can be implemented by a mobile phone, a personal computer, or a dedicated device.

This article introduces you to three aggregation manager system solutions, including the High Performance Digital Visual Interface (DVI) Aggregation Manager (a hardware accelerated high resolution [HD] audio/visual [AV] codec and 3- D-Accelerated User Interface [UI]), a low-cost DVI Aggregation Manager (composed of a software-based standard resolution [SD]AV codec) and a low-power aggregation manager (supports software-based audio codecs) Device).

Continuity Interoperability

The ConTInua Health Alliance is comprised of a number of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), service providers and silicon suppliers of medical devices to provide interoperability guidelines for personal medical devices and aggregation managers (AMs). . Although version 1.0 of this principle specifies Bluetooth® and Universal Serial Bus (USB) as standard interfaces, future versions of interoperability principles will include Bluetooth Low Energy® (BLE) and ZigBee as low-power personal area networks ( PAN) and local area network (LAN) interface.

OEMs currently use Ethernet, Wi-Fi and cellular interfaces, such as GSM for AM wide area network (WAN) interfaces. To be a Qualcomm-certified AM, the device must integrate at least one PAN or low-power LAN interface with a WAN or Internet Protocol interface. Because many vendors want to interoperate with as many common devices as possible, multiple low-power LAN/PAN and WAN interfaces are typically integrated.

Continua AM can come in a variety of different shapes. In some cases, it can be a personal computer or a mobile phone. In other cases, it may be a media device that connects an existing display or an integrated display. AM can also be a low power, wearable device when using low power form factors. Since many vendors choose to implement media center devices and low-power wearables, this article will introduce you to media center AM and low-power AM pre-integration design.

DIV Aggregation Manager Media Processor

TI's DVI AM media processor is an ARM® CortexTM-A8-based architecture that provides audio, camera and video media interfaces. Device vendors looking to implement HD video streaming should use TI's OMAP3530 media processor because it integrates an HD video accelerator. Device vendors that don't need HD (720p) video streaming should use the lower cost AM3517, which supports DVI HD (720p/1080i) but does not have an integrated HD video accelerator. Both media processors use the latest Linux version (supports Ubuntu/Android UI) and are code compatible.

Equipment vendors looking to achieve higher video performance up to full HD 1080p should use the OMPA4430 processor, an ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor.

HD video streaming

The OMAP3530 high-performance, low-power mobile application processor integrates the ARM Cortex-A8 processor with TI's C64X+TM DSP hardware-accelerated video processor and associated peripherals.

The OMAP35x evaluation module includes open source Linux and drivers, along with the Code Sourcery tool and the Digital Video Software Development Kit (DVSDK). The DVSDK also includes a complete set of easy-to-use audio and video codecs for hardware-accelerated video processors using TI's DaVinciTM technology. These codecs are pre-integrated with Linux and network peripherals to support real-time 720p video streaming. The SD codec is provided free of charge by TI, while the HD codec is provided by TI's third-party network.

The OMPA4430 processor integrates an ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor and a hardware-accelerated video processor. It supports full HD 1080p video streaming (or 720p two-way video conferencing) and other rich multimedia features.

Low-power aggregation manager processor

For low power/cost designs, TI's Stellaris® ARM Cortex-M3 microcontrollers can be used. In addition to some synchronous interfaces (including Ethernet MAC/PHY and USB On-The-Go), the LM3S9B96 development kit adds several features to enhance the overall user experience, such as 3.5-inch color using a resistive touch interface. QVGA LCD, a dial potentiometer (for menu navigation), user LEDs and buttons, MicroSD card slot and 1MB serial flash memory. The LM3S9B96 Development Kit has an expansion board that uses TI's CC2530 ZigBee SoC, CC2540 Bluetooth Low Energy SoC and CC2570 ANT Network Processor (NWP).

Software tool suite options for the tool suite include:

1. Evaluation version of the ARM RealView microcontroller development kit

2. Starter Edition IAR Embedded Workbench

3. CodeRed Technology Red Kit

4. CodeSourcerySourcery G++ GNU Tools

In addition to the ROM-based SafeRTOS included in the LM3S9B96 microcontroller, the RTOS demo also includes:

1. FreeRTOS.org

2. μC/Probe Embedded System Monitoring MicriumμC/OS-II

3. Express LogicThreadX

4. CMX system CMX-RTX

5. Keil RTX

6. IAR PowerPac

7. SEGGER embOS

8. Quadros RTXC

9. MicroDigital's SMX

10. RoweBot's Unison Ultra Micro Embedded Linux and POSIX Compatible RTOS

11. SCIOPTA's security critical application real-time operating system
