Why induction lamp can replace LED?

Due to induction lighting has many advantages, it becomes increasingly popular over the last few years. It can replace many conventional lighting like incandescent bulb, high pressure sodium lamp and even LED. So how does induction lighting measure up in the LED age? The first obvious advantage is that induction lighting has ultra long life of up to 100,000 hours. While LED high bay lighting has a rated life of up to 50,000 hours. Secondly, Induction lights operate at high frequencies (2.65MHZ) and are flicker-free reducing eyestrain and improving work safety. Some LED`s may flicker depending on their power supply design. Thirdly, induction lighting is almost maintenance-free and provides incredible energy savings of between 35%-75% in most applications, as cost effective as a new purchase or refit with a 1 – 2 year ROI when considering energy and maintenance costs. LED high bay lighting is energy efficient but with a 2 – 3 year ROI , currently costs nearly twice as much as induction. Fourthly, induction lighting is specially designed with a wide light dispersion for large scale area lighting. LED high bay lighting is designed with a narrow beam angle for direct/spot lighting. It has many LED chips to create the effect of area lighting, which is expensive to make and more vulnerable to premature technical failures. Last bu not least, induction lighting is environmentally friendly containing only solid amalgam mercury which is easily recyclable. LED`s may not contain mercury but they can contain small quantities of many other toxic materials or substances such as arsenic, copper, nickel, lead and silver that can contaminate the environment or ground water.
