However, the sales of the Oculus and HTC devices are not bad, because Nvidia claims that VR-ready PC sales have exceeded 15 million units.
At this week's VRX conference, Nvidia General Manager Green Stern confirmed the news that the sales of VR-ready PCs using GeForce chips have exceeded 15 million units, and that this number will reach 30 million at the end of next year.
It is worth noting that this is just a VR-ready PC equipped with a GeForce chip, while another graphics chip vendor, AMD, has not announced sales of such products.
However, compared with the Sony PS4 sales, VR-ready PC is somewhat self-defeating, because the former sales have exceeded 50 million units, Sony in the first round of competition does occupy the first opportunity. Of course, the more expensive Oculus Rift and HTC Vive certainly won't be in the loopholes. While strengthening their exclusive high-end features, they are also working hard to make their products more affordable. At Oculus Connect 3, Oculus stated that Oculus Rift will support lower-performance PCs in the future, so the coverage of VR-ready PCs will expand significantly, and existing products from many users will come in handy.
