Guangdong New Light Source Industry Innovation Center and the Belgian Limburg Provincial Government Business Platform signed a cooperation agreement in Hasselt, the capital of Limburg Province on the 24th. The two parties will share projects, industry, enterprises, policy information, and docking projects to promote China and Belgium. Cooperation in the LED lighting market, and expansion to other EU countries, through the product, investment, service package to develop high-end customers of lighting engineering in schools, hospitals, agriculture, public facilities.
LED lighting is an emerging semiconductor lighting technology that saves one to two times the power consumption compared to traditional energy-efficient lighting. Energy conservation and emission reduction, ensuring energy security, and controlling climate change are important objectives of the EU's 2020 development strategy. The EU is currently the largest export market for LED lighting products in China, including Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Poland, and Belgium. It accounts for one-third of the scale of China's LED lighting products.
In 2015, Belgium imported 1.3 billion yuan of LED lighting products in China, and the types and scale of imported products are still growing rapidly. Limburg Province is bordered by Germany and the Netherlands and is close to France. It has a unique geographical advantage in the trade of LED lighting products in Central Europe.
Guangdong is an important manufacturing base for LED lighting in China, and its industrial scale accounts for half of the country.
