Changyun Express demonstrates high-efficiency LED driver solution based on branch constant current architecture

At Chengdu Station of the 2009 IIC-China Autumn Show, Shenzhen Changyuntong Integrated Circuit Design Co., Ltd. demonstrated high-efficiency LED drive solutions and high-performance PWM controllers. The company's LED driver includes LED screen display driver, LED point light source driver, and LED light module. The main features of LED screen drive products are higher precision between positions and between sheets, and low temperature rise. LED point source ICs are easy to control, low cost, and offer a full range of technical solutions.

The high performance LED point source solution uses the point source controller ICCYT3005. The CYT3005 is a single-wire transmission IC, but has a bidirectional function. It has 3-channel constant current, built-in 12-bit PWM, gamma correction and automatic open circuit check. The current range is 0~30mA, the working voltage is 5-17V, the current accuracy is ±1.5% between channels, ±3% between slices, and the power consumption is less than 100mW.

The program features: it can replace traditional neon lights, users can flexibly program content and presentations, and can change video effects at any time; 16-port output, each port supports 512/1024 pixels, transmission distance up to 100 meters; LED video data Stored in the SD card, it can support 16 video files, and the playback mode can select single or multiple files to play in a loop.

Another solution is the LED module solution with built-in constant current technology, including LED fluorescent/table lamp module and LED spotlight/street light module. The LED fluorescent lamp/table lamp module uses a 48V constant voltage Power Supply | voltage regulator and low dropout constant current LED driver IC, and the efficiency of the whole module is up to 90%. The LED spotlight/street light module uses a 20V constant voltage power supply and a low dropout constant current LED driver IC, which has high driving efficiency. The overall efficiency of 3W and 5W spotlights can reach 85%.

The LED module solution architecture uses a branch constant current, multi-chip package and low dropout linear constant current drive technology, and uses a unique thermal design. These modules directly package the LED chip on the aluminum substrate, which can effectively shorten the heat conduction path, increase the heat dissipation area, and reduce the thermal resistance.

"The system power supply adopts the isolated scheme of AC90~265V input, the efficiency is up to 87%. The efficiency from AC to DC is generally 95%, the constant current drive part can achieve 99%, and almost no energy is consumed, so it can be realized from AC. The efficiency of the point source is 87%." Mr. Zhou, the vice president of Changyuntong, said.

High Performance PWM Controller - CYT1803 is designed for cost effective AC/DC converters. It delivers up to 12W of continuous output power over a wide voltage range of 85V-265V with a peak output power of 18W. The optimized high-reasonity circuit design combined with the high-performance and cost-effective bipolar manufacturing process maximizes the overall cost of the product. The power controller operates in a typical flyback topology and forms a compact AC/DC converter.
