US LED Bulb and semiconductor manufacturer Cree (CREE-US) said that the third quarter of 2016 financial year revenue will be lower than expected due to delayed production and other problems in the production line. Tuesday's share price fell 18.86% to $23.57 per share.
Cree only expects revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2016 to be $367 million compared to the expected revenue of $400 million to $430 million. Cree expects earnings per share to be removed from 13 cents to 15 cents, significantly lower than the expected 22 cents to 29 cents.
As of March 27, 2016, Cree's LED bulb business revenue was $187 million. Cree said that consumer light bulb shipments have increased significantly in March 2016, and are optimistic about the sales of LED bulbs and semiconductor products in the fourth quarter.
