India is expected to spend $13.9 million to replace LED street lights that will be implemented in the next six months

The Panaji Cabinet of India decided to replace all the traditional light bulbs with LED street lights to cut the cost of street lamps by 50%. It is estimated that the LED street lamp replacement work will cost about 923 million rupees (about 13.9 million US dollars). According to the "India Times" news, the LED street light replacement project will be implemented by the Energy Saving Services Co., Ltd. (EESL) in the next six months.

According to Indian Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, it may take up to nine months to complete the replacement of the LED street light. In addition, the Center's Street Lights National Project (SLNP) will be implemented by the state government.

LED streetlights will replace traditional luminaires, including high-pressure sodium vapor lamps, compact energy-saving lamps (CFLs), and fluorescent lamps, which are expected to save an energy cost of 189 million rupees ($2.8 million) per year.

It is reported that Power Minister Public Sector Business (PSU) Joint Venture Energy Saving Services Co., Ltd. (EESL) will provide the cost of the project, which is expected to cost 923 million rupees (about 13.9 million US dollars).

It is expected that the LED street light replacement work will be completed in 2016.
