These new products are Toshiba's first enterprise-class SSDs with integrated 15nm MLC NAND flash memory. Toshiba used this technology to develop these new products, some of which have twice the capacity of traditional Toshiba products [1]. These SSDs extend Toshiba's enterprise storage solutions and flexibly meet the diverse needs of the fast-growing enterprise storage market.

These SSDs are equipped with Toshiba's proprietary QSBC (Quadruple Swing-By Code) error correction technology, a high efficiency error correction code (ECC). They are equipped with power-off protection and data protection to help protect customer data and increase reliability.

The HK4R series has a durability rating of 1DWPD [2] and a capacity of up to 1920GB [3], making it suitable for enterprise applications such as web servers, file servers, streaming media, video on demand, search engines and hot data storage.

The HK4E series is a durable endurance hard drive with a durability rating of 3DWPD and a capacity of up to 1600GB. It works with email servers and data centers.

Toshiba will continue to strengthen its SSD lineup to meet the different needs of users and lead the expanding SSD market.

Note:

[1] Compared with the HK3R2 series and the HK3E series.

[2] DWPD: Daily hard disk writes. When the daily hard disk write amount is 1, it means that the hard disk can be written and rewritten to its full capacity once every five years, that is, the product is guaranteed to be a five-year warranty. Actual results may vary depending on system configuration, usage, and other factors.

[3] Capacity definition: Toshiba defines 1 megabyte (MB) as 1,000,000 bytes and 1 gigabyte (GB) as 1,000,000,000 bytes. The computer operating system uses a power of two to report the storage capacity, which defines 1GB = 230 = 1,073,741,824 bytes, thus showing less storage capacity. Depending on the file size, format, settings, software, and operating system, available storage capacity (including various media file examples) will vary, such as Microsoft operating systems and/or pre-installed software applications or media content. Actual formatted capacity may vary.

[4] Toshiba defines 1 kilobyte (KiB) equal to 1,024 bytes (210), and 1 megabyte (MiB) equals 1,048,576 bytes (220). The read and write speeds may vary depending on the host device, read and write conditions, and file size.

The rechargeable sealed Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) cell absorbs hydrogen in the metal alloy makeup of its negative electrode during charge. As the cell is discharged, the metal alloy releases hydrogen to form water. The use of the metal alloy is the underlying reason for the high energy density of the NiMH cell compared to other chemistries. NiMH batteries have a long cycle life and good storage characteristics.

Key Features:

Production technology is mature, quality is stable and pretty safe.

Low internal resistance.

Long cycle life over 500 cycles.

Friendly to the environment: No Cadmium, Mercury effect, Lead.
