Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission promised to complete the lighting renovation of 45,000 primary and middle school classrooms in Shanghai within three years.
According to the survey, more than 50% of students and parents lack the most basic science knowledge of eye care, and they do not understand the dangers of myopia and blindness. This has led to a gradual increase in low-visibility, and high-myopia students have experienced cases of retinal exfoliation in sports. To this end, in April this year, Tang Zude called on the relevant departments to attach great importance to the situation of social conditions and public opinion, strengthen the publicity and education of youth vision care as soon as possible, and set up a youth low vision control center.
The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission attaches great importance to this issue. After a period of serious research and deliberation, a series of positive measures aimed at protecting young people's vision have been implemented in succession: the Municipal Education Commission and the Eye Defense Institute will jointly monitor and intervene in Shanghai students' myopia. The project is planned to be completed. The goal is to complete the myopia monitoring system covering the whole city through three years, covering 8% and 10% of the total number of students in the city, reaching 8.1 million.
Relevant parties will also establish a student eye health record, with a filing rate requirement of 100%, printing and publishing a brochure for prevention and treatment of primary and middle school students' myopia, and carrying out training for health care teachers in the city.
At the same time, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission has included the improvement of the classroom light environment into the key work of the Municipal Education Commission. Within three years, it will complete the lighting renovation project of about 45,000 classrooms in the library and comprehensive laboratory of Shanghai primary and secondary schools. Protecting the vision of adolescents creates more favorable conditions.
