The rise of high-voltage frequency converter industry in China

Shuiqing Muhua Research Center pointed out that with the rise of domestic high-voltage inverter companies and the drastic increase in downstream demand, the market scale of China's high-voltage inverter has rapidly expanded from 1.1 billion yuan in 2005 to 3.9 billion yuan in 2009. The compound annual growth rate is as high as 37%. In 2010, China will continue to increase the promotion of energy-saving motor products and provide support to energy-saving service companies, which will promote the further growth of the high-voltage frequency converter market. It is expected that its market size will reach around 8.5 billion yuan in 2012.

The high-voltage frequency converter industry has strong barriers to entry and companies with advantages in technology, capital, and branding can gain a place in the industry. With its strong technology and brand support, Siemens and ABB have led the global high-voltage inverter market. In 2009, its global market share reached 26.5% and 20.0%, respectively, far higher than China's high-voltage inverter leader - Lee. DFW (global market share of 6.5%).

Due to the huge potential market for high-voltage inverters in China, the pace of industrial integration and capital intervention has been accelerating in recent years. In 2007, Zhiguang Electric was listed; at the end of 2009, 94% of Lead Huafu was purchased by Affinity Equity Partners; in 2010, Jiuzhou Electric and Hekang Yisheng were successively listed. At the same time, State Power Nanzu, Wolong Electric, Kelu Electronics, and Dongfang Electronics have also begun to enter the field of high-voltage inverters. As of the first half of 2010, China has reached more than 30 high-voltage inverter companies, and the localization rate exceeds 60%.

Although the ranks of China's high-voltage inverters are continuously expanding, market share is concentrated in the hands of a few companies, and the top 10 companies account for more than 80% of the market's share. Among them, the Leader Huafu market is the largest, ranking first in the industry for seven consecutive years. In September 2010, the company's sales of high-voltage inverters reached a total of 4,000 units, achieving a new leap forward.

Hekang Inverter is capable of producing 1200 sets of high-voltage inverter per year. In 2009, it produced the first synchronous vector control high-voltage inverter in China. In 2010, it produced the first 7700kW high-power high-voltage inverter in China and exported it to India.
