Vishay's CZB series of thick diaphragm attenuators with balanced π filters save space and simplify manufacturing processes

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduced a new surface-mount thick-diaphragm attenuator featuring a balanced p-filter circuit, the CZB. This innovative component from Vishay Dale is designed as a resistor array that can replace three or more individual components, helping to save board space and streamline manufacturing in communication and mobile wireless devices.

The newly released CZB attenuator offers a single-device solution with exceptional tolerance matching and temperature tracking performance, making it ideal for signal attenuation applications. It provides an attenuation range of 1.0dB to 10.0dB, with ultra-low attenuation tolerances of ±0.3dB, ensuring high precision and reliability in demanding environments.

With a maximum power rating of 0.075W at +70°C, the CZB operates at frequencies up to 3GHz and supports both 50Ω and 75Ω impedance configurations. The device is RoHS-compliant and functions reliably across a wide temperature range, from -55°C to +150°C, making it suitable for a variety of industrial and commercial applications.

Vishay has started shipping samples of the CZB attenuator, and it is now in full-scale production. The lead time for volume orders ranges between eight to ten weeks, allowing engineers and designers to plan their projects accordingly.
