Vishay's CZB series of thick diaphragm attenuators with balanced π filters save space and simplify manufacturing processes

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. unveiled a new surface-mount thick-diaphragm attenuator featuring a balanced p-filter circuit—named the CZB. This innovative component from Vishay Dale is designed as a resistor array that can replace multiple discrete components, offering significant advantages in terms of space savings and simplified manufacturing in communication and mobile wireless devices.

The CZB attenuator provides a single-device solution with exceptional tolerance matching and temperature tracking performance, making it ideal for high-precision signal attenuation applications. It offers an attenuation range of 1.0dB to 10.0dB, with tight tolerances as low as ±0.3dB, ensuring reliable and consistent performance across different operating conditions.

With a maximum power dissipation of 0.075W at +70°C, the CZB operates at frequencies up to 3GHz and supports impedances of both 50Ω and 75Ω. The device is fully RoHS compliant and is built to withstand extreme temperatures, functioning reliably between -55°C and +150°C. These features make it well-suited for demanding industrial and high-performance applications.

Vishay has already started shipping samples of the CZB attenuator, with volume production now underway. The lead time for orders ranges from eight to ten weeks, allowing engineers and designers to integrate this advanced component into their next-generation designs efficiently.
