Smart home embedded Internet four control technology

In order to achieve smart home remote monitoring and communication with external networks, must implement SCM system of Internet access, embedded Internet technology smart home is here played a big role. The use of Internet communication and control by MCU has good practical value, and it can easily realize remote control and monitoring. It is also the main goal of information appliances. However, the current technical difficulty in using the single-chip microcomputer to implement the embedded Internet solution lies in how to use the limited resources of the single-chip microcomputer to process the information by TCP/IP protocol, so that it becomes an IP data packet that can be transmitted on the Internet. Starting from solving this technology, the following solutions are currently available:

(1) 32-bit MCU+RTOS

The 32-bit high-end single-chip microcomputer is used for software development on the RTOS (Real-Time Multi-Task Operating System) platform, and the TCP/IP protocol is integrated in the embedded single-chip microcomputer system to implement TCP/IP protocol processing. This protocol can be implemented by software. Software simplification is also possible through hardware. This configuration requires the microcontroller to have a certain amount of storage space to implement the TCPIIP protocol. At present, the more popular RTOS in China are VxWorks, pSOS, Nucleus, QNX, WindowsCE and so on.

Due to the use of high-end single-chip microcomputers, this solution can perform many complicated functions, but the cost is high, the development cycle is long, and expensive RTOS development software needs to be purchased, which requires high requirements for developers.

(2) 8-bit MCU+TCP/IP protocol chip

This solution is the core of the application system consisting of MCUs and chips that have cured the TCP/IP protocol. The application system can dial directly to the Internet, and the hardware circuit is relatively simple, but requires a large-capacity memory. If the TCP/IP protocol chip used is software-hardened, the MCU is required to have a higher running speed. Chips using this solution include SX-stack from Scenix Semiconductor, 57600A from Seiko, InternetTuner from iReady, and iChip from ConnectOne. The Scenix MCU is a software curing protocol. The software protocol stack is written in assembly language and stored in the FLASH program memory of the MCU. The other chips are hardware-hardened, and the hardware TCP/IP protocol stack acts as an accelerator between the MCU and the Internet.

The advantage of this scheme is that the 8-bit single-chip microcomputer system is directly connected to the Internet. The PC can be used to remotely access the single-chip microcomputer system through the Internet, or the single-chip microcomputer system can be used to send information to the remote PC or other terminal through the Internet. However, the design engineer of the application system must be familiar with protocols such as TCP/IP and related interfaces, and the software design is large. In addition, each electronic device needs an IP address, so it is necessary to expand the IP protocol to get better support.

(3) MCU+EMIT agreement + emGateway

Using the EMIT (EmbeddedMicroInternetworkingTechnology developed by emWare), the emNet protocol is used inside the MCU of the application system, and then connected to the Internet through emGateway. The EmGateway network software interface can be installed in a computer, TV set-top box or dedicated home appliance server. It supports the TCP/IP protocol and runs the HTTP service program as a user to remotely access the server through a web browser. EmGateway connects to multiple embedded devices via RS-232, RS-485, CAN, infrared and RF communication. Each embedded device application contains an independent communication task called emMicro, which monitors embedded devices. Pre-defined variables and feed back the results to emGateway, emMicr. You can also interpret Gateway's commands, modify variables in the device, or perform some kind of control. EmMicro and emGateway together provide Internet capabilities for embedded devices.
