Hewlett-Packard appoints Mao Yunan to take charge of business in China

Beijing, August 26, 2013-Hewlett-Packard today announced the appointment of Mr. Mao Yunan as chairman of the newly established HP China. Mr. Mao has a long-standing reputation in the global telecommunications industry. He has served as a senior consultant for Hewlett-Packard for the past three years. In the future, he will be responsible for the strategic development of HP in China and will directly report to Meg, President and CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Ms. Whitman (Meg Whitman) reports.

Mr. Mao Yunan is a native of Zhejiang and a recognized leader in the global telecommunications industry. In the 1980s, Mr. Mao contributed to the establishment of Shanghai Bell Company, which promoted the vigorous development of China's telecommunications industry and helped China rank among the world's leading players in the field of telecommunications manufacturing. In 2010, as the CEO of 3Com, Mr. Mao Yunan completed the merger and acquisition of 3Com by Hewlett-Packard. Since then, Mr. Mao has provided strategic consulting for HP's overall business. Prior to serving as CEO of 3Com, Mr. Mao served as the CEO of Nortel Networks Greater China from 1997 to 2006. From 1995 to 1997, he served as President of Alcatel-Lucent Greater China.
