To extract useful insights from this massive data, security vendors need to enhance their ability to process unstructured data efficiently, such as analyzing video and facial features. They must also improve big data platforms to enable fast retrieval and analysis of structured and semi-structured data, creating tailored architectures for security applications. The application of big data in the security sector presents unique challenges. While IT industries focus on textual data, the security field emphasizes image-based information retrieval. Tools like video intelligence analysis, image sharpening, and video transcoding are essential for processing unstructured data. For structured and semi-structured data, the security community draws on IT practices to perform accurate and efficient analysis. In projects like "Safe City," the integration of big data technologies helps manage and analyze massive video data, enabling faster decision-making and improved public safety. Cloud storage has emerged as a key solution, offering scalable and cost-effective storage for video and image data. Unlike traditional storage, cloud storage provides distributed, fault-tolerant, and highly available solutions, significantly reducing maintenance efforts and downtime. Despite these advancements, the security industry still faces challenges in fully leveraging big data. Data remains fragmented, and standardized methods for mining and utilizing it are not yet established. Security companies must invest in R&D, enhance their technical capabilities, and develop robust systems to handle the growing data volumes effectively. As the era of big data continues to evolve, the security field stands at a crossroads—facing both opportunities and challenges. The future will depend on how well the industry adapts to new technologies and integrates them into existing systems to ensure safer, smarter, and more efficient operations.
