CES 2018, the International Consumer Electronics Show, kicked off as scheduled. As a leading global television manufacturer, Hisense held a product launch event in Las Vegas on January 8th at 11:00 AM. This event marked another step in Hisense’s ambitious global expansion strategy.
Internationalization has always been a top priority for Hisense. At the press conference, the company highlighted its impressive achievements in 2017: it sold over 41 million products worldwide, became the fourth-largest TV brand globally, and topped the market in South Africa and Australia for both TVs and refrigerators. Hisense also received 62 international awards and exported its products to 151 countries around the world.
Liu Hongxin, President of Hisense Group, delivered a speech emphasizing the company’s future direction. He mentioned that laser TVs would be a key focus this year, with many new brands entering the market. Hisense is continuously innovating, aiming to meet diverse user needs by offering larger, thinner, and 4K-enabled TVs.
In addition to its sponsorship of the European Cup in 2016, Hisense officially announced its partnership with the 2018 FIFA World Cup, further strengthening its global brand presence. During the event, the company showcased special live displays and events tied to the tournament.
At the conference, Hisense unveiled the ULED U7 and U9 series designed specifically for the 2018 World Cup. The U9 model features a groundbreaking 1000-zone backlight system, delivering exceptional contrast, brightness, and color accuracy. It also includes an advanced Motion Flow technology, making it ideal for watching high-speed sports events like the World Cup.
Hisense also introduced several laser TV models, including the 150-inch dual-color light source S6, 88-inch 88L6, 100-inch HU100L6, and 80-inch KL1. The S6 model offers a massive screen size, up to 3.345m x 1.892m, and supports flexible resizing, making it perfect for use as a video wall.
The L6 series boasts a color gamut coverage of 116% under the BT.709 standard, surpassing traditional LCD TVs. These models also feature HDR imaging and 120Hz MEMC motion compensation for smoother visuals and better performance.
Hisense collaborated with DLP and Harman Kardon to enhance audio quality. The sound system was custom-designed by Harman Kardon, featuring a 5.8G wireless subwoofer that delivers deep bass down to 40Hz—close to professional audio standards.
The 150-inch laser TV also comes with smart TV capabilities, supporting online streaming, home KTV, fitness, education, and shopping. Powered by the MStar 6A-938 chip and equipped with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, it handles 4K content smoothly, offering a fast and seamless smart living experience.
Looking ahead, Hisense continues to focus on ULED and laser TV technologies. Its strong R&D capabilities and image processing expertise have helped it stand out in the global market, proving that Chinese brands can compete internationally.
