Unlike traditional IT, where text-based data dominates, the security field focuses on image and video analysis. Tools such as video intelligence systems, face recognition software, and license plate detection systems are increasingly being used. These technologies help improve public safety, traffic management, and criminal investigations. One notable example is the "Safe City" initiative, where massive video data is collected, stored, and analyzed to support law enforcement and emergency response. Cloud storage has emerged as a key solution, offering scalable and cost-effective storage for large volumes of video data. Unlike traditional storage systems, cloud storage uses distributed architectures that ensure reliability, fault tolerance, and efficient data access. Despite these advancements, challenges remain. While the security industry is moving toward a big data era, it is still in the early stages.
