The market demand has expanded, and many manufacturers have put LED downlights into the market as fist products. What comes with it is the “flooding” of LED downlights in the terminal market, and the quality of products is uneven, especially the relatively regulated e-commerce channel products.

At present, the price of LED downlights ranges from a dozen yuan to hundreds of yuan. The price difference is not only from the value influence of the product brand but also from the choice of raw materials and the manufacturing process of the enterprise itself.

In order to further understand the quality level of e-commerce channel products, combined with the sponsorship of Gaogong LED, the G20-LED Summit and the third-party testing agency's incentive testing jointly released the ninth round of market test results of the China LED Lighting CLEAR program, selected a batch of A representative 6-inch LED downlight is tested and disassembled.

The selected samples are Xiguang, Benbang, Sanxiong Aurora, Huaqiangwang, Foshan Lighting, Martha and Kasman.

From the test data, the average light efficiency is 61.3 lm/w, the highest is Sanxiong Aurora, and the lowest is Huaqiangwang. The sample data of the two samples are 86.93 lm/w and 42.95 lm/w, respectively. The difference is more than doubled.

In terms of color rendering index, the average index is 71, with a maximum of 82.8 and a minimum of Kasman, only 61.7. The average value of the PF value is only 0.46.

Based on the comparison of various photoelectric parameters, only Sanxiong Aurora has reached the Class III certification required by the G20-LED downlight certification product specification, and Foshan Lighting has reached the Class IV certification required by the G20-LED downlight certification product specification.


From the data comparison, the quality of the major e-commerce channel products is quite different, and in terms of structure, the LED downlight is mainly composed of three parts: the light source, the power supply and the heat dissipation kit. To this end, the high-tech LED team carried out structural dismantling of the seven downlights, and explored the internal structure of the seven lamps from the perspective of the supply chain.

As the core component of the luminaire, the quality of the light source directly affects the quality level of the whole lamp, especially the parameters such as light efficiency and indexing.

In the choice of light source, Kasman lighting used 15 imitation lumens 1W lamp beads. Foshan Lighting and Sanxiong Aurora used the current mainstream SMD2835 lamp beads. The SMD5050 light source used by Benbang and Huaqiang Wang, Xiguang and Martha Select the SMD5730 light source.

Comprehensive comparison of the above four kinds of light sources, SMD2835 has advantages in light efficiency and cost compared to other light sources, 0.2W SMD2835 can achieve 120LM/W, and the better quality price is about 90 yuan / K, while the imitation lumens Due to the need for secondary optical processing, the light loss is more serious, so its use on the downlight has been basically eliminated, which is an outdated product.

As the "heart" of LED lamps, power supply is cost-effective, high-reliability and long-life. It is the key to ensuring the long life of LED lamps. Its role should not be underestimated. Whether it is domestic or foreign, there are strict safety requirements for the power supply of lighting fixtures. 3C, CE, etc. have specific provisions for EMC and PF. Among them, 3C certification requires that the lamps must pass the EMC insertion loss, EMC terminal disturbance voltage, EMC radiation electromagnetic disturbance, EMC harmonics and other test requirements.

Through the dismantling of these lamps, we found that many power supplies are basically simple isolation and non-isolation solutions. The power supply of one enterprise sample is not treated by EMC. In addition, the GB7000 requirements for Class I lamps sold on the market must have a ground wire. Only the three Aurora Aurora in the 7 samples have a ground wire treatment. Therefore, when performing the withstand voltage test, it is only necessary to apply 2U+ to the ground at the input end of the lamp. 1000V (1500V) can withstand voltage.

In the heat dissipation kit, the structural design directly affects the cost of the lamp, the overall lighting effect and the heat dissipation effect. At present, the cooling kits for LED downlights mainly include metal kits, metal-clad kits and non-metal kits.

Among them, Kasman uses the aluminum parts cooling kit, Sanxiong Aurora, Foshan Lighting, Benbang, Huaqiangwang heat dissipation structure is basically the same, relying on the shell heat dissipation (the current design of the patch type light source downlight), all use stamping type Iron shells, the cost is relatively low. The difference is that Sanxiong Aurora uses built-in reflective paper + PC diffuser design, while Foshan Lighting, Benbang and Huaqiang Wang use a reflective layer + glass plate structure.

Among them, Benbang and Huaqiang Wang adopt the design of the face ring structure, which is more economical to use, but the workmanship is not high. In addition, the two also use cyan glass, which will affect the color temperature, while Foshan lighting uses white glass. The cost of glass sheets is nearly a dollar cheaper than PC diffusion boards.


Xiguang uses the structure of aluminum parts and plastic kits and plastic reflectors. The ultra-thin structure adopted by Martha directly uses the shell to dissipate heat. It uses side-illuminated strips + diffuser + light guide + reflective paper design. The advantage of the LED light source, which is ultra-thin that cannot be realized by the conventional downlight, but also causes the efficiency of the lamp to be relatively low.

In addition, the safety of the luminaire is also very critical, especially in fire protection. Due to the use of metal radiators and metal power enclosures, Kasman has the highest fire resistance, while other sample power supplies and enclosures are made of plastic. The flame retardant grade is the largest watershed.
