The results of the mainstream flat-panel TV performance evaluation in the first half of 2010 in the digital TV standard conformity test center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that at this stage, flat-panel TV products have certain performance and energy consumption in terms of clarity, color reproduction capability, contrast, etc., which are more than the 2009 average. Upgrade. Especially after Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, Skyworth, Konka and other color TV manufacturers generally apply LED backlight technology, flat panel TV products have an average color gamut coverage and contrast growth of 10%-15%.

Liu Quanen, senior engineer of the Third Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group, said that the overall performance of flat-panel TV products has reached a high level, but some products have problems such as screen leakage and uneven brightness. In general, LCD TVs still have room for improvement in terms of dynamic definition and brightness uniformity. Plasma TVs need to continue their efforts to improve screen illumination efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

"The speed of replacing traditional LCD TVs with LED TVs is somewhat unexpected." Even if they are optimistic about the prospects of LED TVs, there are still people in the industry who have expressed such feelings.

Lu Jianbo, deputy secretary general of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, said that the speed of LED TV is not unexpected. "The main focus of consumers buying color TVs is on brand, price, appearance, quality, function, energy saving and environmental protection. Compared with traditional LCD TVs, although the price of LED TVs is relatively high, it has obvious advantages in ultra-thin, energy-saving and full HD, and caters to the needs of consumers. Moreover, the price gap between the two parties is gradually narrowing. These are LEDs. The reason why TV can get up quickly."

Faced with the huge market demand for LED TVs, Samsung and Sharp and other Japanese and Korean brands have taken the lead. With the advantages of LCD panel production lines, they have occupied a strong position in the upstream of the industrial chain. Under the support of the National Development and Reform Commission, Skyworth, Konka and other domestic brands are struggling to enter the LED upstream industry to make up for the shortcomings in the LED backlight field. At present, a number of domestic LED, module, chip, panel production lines have begun construction or production, China's LED upstream industry supporting layout has entered a white-hot stage.
